Summer Movie Season Is Here!

With the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (review forthcoming!), the summer movie season is about to be all up in our collective faces. I’ve been a part of a really cool, March Madness like Summer Movie Draft for the past few years (thanks, Junior Senator) and have more than a passing interest in how summer movies are reviewed and how they perform at the box office.

So does fivethirtyeight.com, Nate Silver’s blog which rocketed to fame in the last election cycle.

You can read a really fascinating take on summer movies HERE. Thanks to my friend J-Kraufor the reference on this one.

The article details the plot twists, tropes and traditions which make a summer movie a summer movie!

Who Really Created Batman?

It’s Batman’s 75th Anniversary of publication this year and we will see stories about the character all year long. That’s good and fun! However, not all the stories about the Dark Knight are going to be good…

Here’s one squarely in the bad column. Bob Kane is the only acknowledged creator of Batman… but, there was another creator who not only had a little influence over Batman’s creation but may well have been the PRIME creator of the Caped Crusader.

You can read robotsix.com’s account of the story HERE. It’s a pretty fascinating tale.
