In the days leading up to Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, And There Came A Day will present links, images, videos, art, memories, laughs, theories and thoughts leading up to the big day… which happens to be on my birthday! ENJOY and may the Force be with you, always… or at least until 12.18.15!
THAT’S WOOKIE FOR “WHAT THE HELL?”
As we all remember, at the end of Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope, the victorious forces of the Rebel Alliance celebrate the heroes of the Death Star Battle in a massive ceremony. There’s pomp and circumstance and gold medals. One for Luke Skywalker. One for Han Solo. And… NONE (?) for Chewbacca. None? Really? Chewie, who did just as much as Han Solo, who wanted to stay with the Rebels and not run back to Jabba the Hutt, who is virtuous and wise DOESN’T get a medal??!!??
He does, however, get the last word. Listen closely after the applause and before the end credits. That’s Chewie protesting… and he’s looking to pull someone’s arms out of their sockets.
