Over the course of this week leading up to the 87th Annual Academy Awards, And There Came A Day will look at the major categories and make predictions of the winners!
- Marion Cotillard – Two Days, One Night
- Felicity Jones – The Theory of Everything
- Julianne Moore – Still Alice
- Rosamund Pike – Gone Girl
- Reese Witherspoon – Wild
PREDICTED WINNER – Julianne Moore, Still Alice
This is a tough category for me to call with any personal knowledge as I’ve only seen two of the performers in it (Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl – reviewed HERE and she was terrific and Felicity Jones in The Theory of Everything where she was very good but her nomination feels a bit carried by the brilliance of the movie around her). So, armed with very little knowledge, I will predict Julianne Moore, who’s a multiple Academy Award nominee (and multiple loser) will go home with the prize tomorrow. This isn’t too much of a limb to climb out on as she’s won many awards and accolades in the run up to the big show. Both Marion Cotillard and Reese Witherspoon have already won. Jones and Pike are too new to the spotlight. This award goes to Julianne Moore.
