Max Von Sydow turns 86 today. The venerated actor has been in so many films, it’s difficult to point out which roles have been his best but consider The Exorcist, The Seventh Seal, Awakenings, Hannah and Her Sisters or Pelle the Conqueror without him. It’s hard to do.
I think we can forecast that the largest hit of his career is yet to come. Though we don’t know whether he plays hero or villain in The Force Awakens, we do know that his very presence in the film elevates the proceedings Alec Guiness-like!
