Week Eleven – The Denver Broncos at the Chicago Bears

The NFL must have been happy that the divisional rotation this year matched up the Denver Broncos and the Chicago Bears, meaning Denver’s former coach John Fox gets a chance at playing the team that fired him after a 12 win season. That’s a good story line for this game. Also, we get Jay Cutler vs. the team that draft him, though that story is a bit long-in-the-tooth to be overly enticing.

It will be interesting to see how Fox’s former players gear up to face him. By all accounts, the players liked Fox, but the end of his tenure in Denver was mired in suggestions that he was looking for his next posting even as the Broncos prepared to play the Indianapolis Colts in the playoffs last year. That probably didn’t endear him to his squad.

The bottom line in this game has less to do with story line and more to do with quality teams. The Broncos should simply be far better than the Bears, no matter where the game is played. This should be an easy win for the Blue and Orange.
