Oscars

The Academy Awards Ceremony is Sunday, February 29. Leading up to the event, And There Came A Day presents a predictions for the major categories.

BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE

Supporting Actor

NOMINEES

Christian Bale – The Big Short
Tom Hardy – The Revenant
Mark Ruffalo – Spotlight
Mark Rylance – Bridge of Spies

Sylvester Stallone – Creed

WHO WILL WIN

Sylvester Stallone – Creed

This seems to be Stallone’s year and it is, perhaps, not surprising, that his only other nominations came for the movie that made him famous – Rocky. Playing the role of Rocky Balboa (for the last time?) in Creed, Stallone is likely to raise Oscar in what promises to be his last chance for gold.

WHO I WOULD LIKE TO SEE WIN

Sylvester Stallone – Creed

This is my favorite Oscar category of the year and it features some great performances (I really loved Mark Ruffalo – always good – in Spotlight, Christian Bale is so good normally, we come to expect great performances like his in The Big Short and Mark Rylance was nothing short of a revelation in Bridge of Spies) but it’s very hard no to root for Stallone in this one.
