The new Star Trek series, premiering in January of 2017, will film in Toronto. This much is certain. Further, the creative team includes Nicholas Meyer, director of Star Trek II and Star Trek VI and Bryan Fuller, terrific creative mind and Star Trek aficionado.

There are also many, many rumors including two that I really hope are true!

  • The new series will be an anthology series with each season set in a different part of the Star Trek universe and the Star Trek timeline
  • The new series will be set following the events of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

This week, moviepilot.com featured some speculation and an interview with Meyer himself.
